Big changes at Mothers Under the Influence

I have some news: Starting in May, this newsletter will be published at a new home, New York Magazine’s The Cut. It will have a new name, and an expanded scope! I very much hope that you all will follow me over there, and read my new newsletter BROODING: Deep thoughts on modern family life.

I am just so grateful for your support these past months. You will no longer be charged for your  subscriptions, and access to all of BROODING will be free.

In addition to my ongoing analysis of the world of momfluencers, I’ll be thinking about digital culture’s entanglements with the commodification of family life, and looking at all sorts of discourses and trends related to domesticity. I’m hoping to dig deeper into urgent current issues like the crises in American child care and teenage mental health, while also making time for serious topics like Rae Dunn pottery collectors and my abiding obsession with neutral-toned home interiors. BROODING will be everything you’ve come to expect from Mothers Under the Influence, with a widened lens.
